KC has several different courts in which issues are addressed. Your case may by in the Kansas City, Kansas Municipal Court, which is often referred to as the Unified Government of Wyandotte County. Or, it could be in the District Court for Wyandotte County. If it is a felony, it is definitely supposed to be in the District Court. The Municipal Court only hears misdemeanors, while the District Court has jurisdiction for both. If you are dealing with a civil issue, it is likely in the District Court.

If your case is out of Missouri, it may be in the KC, MO municipal court or it could be in the Circuit Court for Jackson County. Missouri Circuit Courts are similar to Kansas's County District Courts. Only misdemeanors are heard in the municipal courts in Missouri. The Circuit Courts can address either misdemeanors or felonies or both. If you are dealing with a civil issue, it is likely in the Circuit Court.
