Michael Jackson's doctor sentenced
Conrad Murray, the doctor who has been on trial for the death of pop star Michael Jackson, was sentenced today to four years of jail time.
Murray was tried and convicted of involuntary manslaughter stemming from the overdose of propofol that he gave to Michael in June of 2009. The doctor did not testify during trial, but has maintained his innocence of wrongdoing.
His four year sentence is the maximum penalty for this kind of conviction.
Whether you think the celebrity status of this case had any bearing on the outcome, there was the due process of law and ruling has been made. Might there be an appeal coming? We will just have to wait and see what happens.
