Orrick, MO – Two Injured in Bus Crash on Brashears Rd near W 73rd St

Orrick, MO (August 31, 2023) – The Missouri State Highway Patrol was called to a crash that occurred in Ray County and ended in injuries.

The crash was reported to MSHP at around 7:20 a.m. on August 30.

According to law enforcement reports, a 2014 international school bus began to slow down at a bus stop located in the area of Brashears Road in West 73rd Street. For unknown reasons, the vehicle was struck by a 2022 Dodge Ram 2500 pickup truck.

Both vehicles were totaled in the accident.

Two people were hurt due to the crash. 50-year-old Lou Ann Miller of Lexington, Missouri, was transported by Ray County EMS to Lafayette Regional Hospital for emergency treatment. The second victim, 22-year-old Haret Alvarado Vazquez of Kansas City, Missouri, was transported to North Kansas City Hospital by Ray County EMS.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol is actively investigating the incident.
