Kansas City, MO (May 6, 2024) – Emergency crews were requested on-site at a motor vehicle accident in Platte County that ended in injuries. The Missouri State Highway Patrol troopers were requested on-site at around 10:40 a.m. on May 3.

According to official reports, a 2020 Dodge Challenger and a 2007 Cadillac collided on the northbound side of Interstate 29. The impact of the crash sent both vehicles off the left side of the roadway, where they collided with a concrete barrier. The incident prompted the closure of the roadway near Northwest Barry Road. Both vehicles involved in the crash sustained extensive damage. The two vehicles had to be towed from the scene. Two people were injured in the crash. Kansas City Fire Department EMS responded to the scene to render aid to 20-year-old Randi Beaty and 77-year-old Joe George. Both victims were transported to St Lakes East Hospital. At this time, investigations into the crash are ongoing.
