Kansas City, MO (May 2, 2024) – Emergency crews were requested at the scene of a motor vehicle accident that occurred in Platte County and ended in injuries. Authorities were called to the scene at around 7:05 a.m. on May 1.
According to official reports, a 2011 Chevrolet Silverado was traveling on Mexico City Avenue. As the vehicle attempted to make a left turn onto Interstate 29, the driver failed to yield the right of way to a 2018 Chevrolet Equinox. As a result, the two vehicles collided. Both vehicles sustained significant damage and had to be towed from the scene. The driver of the Equinox, 60-year-old Martha Vasquez, was injured in the crash. The Kansas City Fire Department transported her to St. Luke’s Barry Road Hospital. At this time, the incident is under investigation.
