Kansas City, MO (August 9, 2024) – A motor vehicle accident reported in Clay County on Thursday afternoon, August 8, left one person injured. The Missouri State Highway Patrol and firefighters responded to the scene at around 3:55 p.m.
According to area law enforcement reports, a 2015 Malibu was traveling on the southbound side of Interstate 35. As the vehicle proceeded through the area near mile marker 8.6, it attempted to change lanes to avoid traffic. When switching lanes, the vehicle collided with a 2016 Jeep. Both vehicles were severely damaged in the crash and had to be towed from the scene. One person involved in the crash, identified as 24-year-old Asia Aldrich of Kansas City, Missouri, was injured in the crash. Kansas City Fire Department EMS transported her to North Kansas City Hospital for emergency care. At this time, the incident is under investigation.
