Blue Springs, MO (October 1, 2024) - Two people were transported to area hospitals with injuries following a car crash that occurred in Jackson County on Monday morning, September 30.

At around 8:50 a.m., a 2020 Chevrolet Silverado was traveling on the westbound side of Interstate 70. As the vehicle began to slow down for congestion just east of Woods Chapel Road, it was struck in the rear by a 2021 Dodge Durango. Both vehicles were severely damaged as a result of the accident. The two vehicles had to be towed from the scene. The drivers of both vehicles were injured. Emergency medical services responded to the crash site to render aid to 60-year-old Tammy Thompson of Odessa, Missouri, and 46-year-old Ajaz Ali of Blue Springs, Missouri. The two victims were transported to Centerpoint Hospital for further medical care. At this time, investigations into the crash are ongoing.
