Blue Springs, MO (September 10, 2024) – The Missouri State Highway Patrol confirmed that two people were injured in a motor vehicle accident that occurred at around 9:30 a.m. on September 8 in Jackson County.
Law enforcement reports indicate that a 2006 GMC C5500 was traveling on US Highway 40. As the vehicle attempted to turn off the highway at Southwest Tapawingo Road, it collided with a 2012 Ford Escape. Two people in the Ford were injured. Emergency medical services responded to the scene to render aid to 77-year-old Warren Kelly and 79-year-old Virginia Mulwee-Kelly, both of Blue Springs. Warren Kelly was then transported to Centerpoint Hospital for emergency care, and Virginia Mulwee-Kelly self-transported to a local hospital for treatment. The accident is being investigated.
We hope Warren Kelly and Virginia Mulwee-Kelly recover quickly following this crash.
