Warrensburg, MO (August 15, 2023) – A motor vehicle accident took place in Johnson County on Monday morning that left a 24-year-old man from Centerview, Missouri, seriously injured.
At around 9:10 a.m. on August 14, emergency crews were called to the site of an accident on US Highway 50.
Reports provided by Missouri State Highway Patrol trooper DJ Harms indicate that a rear-end collision involving a 2010 Volkswagen and a 2017 Chevrolet occurred on the highway at the intersection of Northwest 311 Road. The impact of the crash caused the Volkswagen to overturn. The vehicle came to rest in a ditch right side up.
The driver of the Volkswagen, identified as James Ries, was seriously injured. He was transported to Centerpoint Medical Center, where he underwent emergency treatment.
The crash is being investigated.
