Blackwater Township, MO (July 2, 2023) – On June 29, troopers with the Missouri State Highway Patrol responded to the scene of a crash in Saline County that sent one woman to an area hospital with injuries.
According to official reports, at approximately 3:50 p.m., the driver of a 2020 Kia Sorrento was slowing their vehicle near mile marker 81.2 on the eastbound side of Interstate 70 in order to make a left turn.
At the same time, a 2017 Ford F350 pickup truck swerved in order to avoid backed-up traffic. As a result, the vehicle crashed into the driver’s side of the Kia, totaling the vehicle.
The driver of the Kia, 69-year-old Vickie Lee, was injured as a result of the accident. Saline County EMS transported the victim to University Hospital in Columbia, Missouri, for emergency care.
