Lexena, KS (July 21, 2023) – A 49-year-old woman lost her life due to a major motor vehicle accident that occurred in the Lexena area. The accident was reported just before 4:50 p.m. on July 19.
According to reports from the Kansas Highway Patrol, a vehicle was traveling north on Highway 7 during the evening hours. For unknown reasons, it collided with a second vehicle just south of Prairie Star Parkway.
One person involved in the crash, identified as Holly Thomas, was fatally injured. She was pronounced deceased at the scene due to her injuries.
An 18-year-old female suffered injuries in the accident and was transported to a local hospital for emergency care.
At this time, the Kansas Highway Patrol is investigating the crash.
