Blue Springs, MO – Fatal Crash Reported on I-70

Blue Springs, MO (November 18, 2023) – A motor vehicle accident reported in Jackson County claimed one person’s life while leaving a second person seriously injured. The accident occurred at around 2:10 p.m. on November 15.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol responded to the scene of a crash on Interstate 70. Reports show that a 2020 Kenworth and a 2004 Ford Excursion were traveling on the westbound side of the interstate. As the vehicles attempted to slow down for congestion near mile marker 23, they were struck by a 2022 International truck tractor-trailer. All three vehicles were severely damaged in the crash.

Two victims were severely hurt in the accident. Authorities transported 28-year-old Robert Cox and 72-year-old James Clark to Centerpoint Medical Center for emergency care. Cox passed away from his injuries after arriving. The accident is currently being investigated by the Missouri State Highway Patrol.
