Car Accidents in Missouri

Missouri witnesses a substantial number of car accidents every year. These accidents result in injuries for tens of thousands of individuals. Many of these accidents are avoidable and end up causing harm to innocent people due to the actions of reckless and negligent drivers.

When individuals are harmed in car crashes, they have the opportunity to pursue compensation for various damages they endure by filing a personal injury claim against the responsible party. This compensation may cover:

  • Lost wages
  • Pain and suffering
  • Medical expenses
  • Property damage
  • Emotional distress
  • Loss of quality of life

To maximize the compensation you are able to recover following an accident, it is crucial to seek immediate guidance from a Missouri car accident lawyer. Missouri follows a pure comparative negligence doctrine regarding motor vehicle accident damages. This law allows victims to seek compensation for their damages. However, the awarded amount decreases in proportion to the percentage of fault in the accident.

Insurance companies often use comparative negligence as a defense to minimize compensation. To protect your rights, it is essential to seek guidance from a dedicated and knowledgeable legal team as soon as possible. Your attorney will initiate evidence collection to bolster your case and ensure you have a strong claim.
