E Pleasant Hill, MO – Two Hurt in Car Crash on Hwy E at 161st St

E Pleasant Hill, MO (April 1, 2024) – Emergency crews were requested at the scene of an automobile accident that occurred in Cass County and ended in injuries. The incident took place at around 10:40 a.m. on March 30.

According to official reports, a 2020 Chevrolet Malibu was traveling south on Highway E when the vehicle ran off the right side of the roadway after the driver overcorrected. The vehicle then reentered the road and crossed over the centerline, where it collided head-on with a 2013 Chevrolet Malibu. Both vehicles were totaled in the accident. Authorities arrived at the scene and immediately secured the roadway just north of 161st Street. Both vehicles were towed from the scene of the accident.

Two people in the 2013 Chevrolet Malibu were injured. The victims were identified as 57-year-old Sherri Gress and 80-year-old Judith Mittag. The victims were both transported to Research Hospital by Pleasant Valley Fire EMS. At this time, investigations into the accident are ongoing.
