Fatal Car Accidents in Kansas

Hundreds of people lose their lives as a result of fatal collisions reported in Kansas every year. Unfortunately, many of these accidents are completely preventable. There are many factors that contribute to fatal accidents taking place across our state. In many instances, these crashes can be attributed to negligence. Leading factors include:

  • Distractions: Distractions like texting, talking on the phone, adjusting the radio, or eating while driving can significantly divert attention from the road. When individuals are not focused on driving, their responsiveness to sudden traffic changes or potential road hazards diminishes significantly.
  • Failing to yield: Disregarding traffic regulations and neglecting to give the right-of-way can create hazardous scenarios at intersections and during highway merges. Regrettably, when drivers fail to yield to others, it may lead to severe T-bone collisions or high-speed crashes, both of which can have catastrophic consequences.
  • Impairment: Operating a vehicle while under the influence of alcohol, drugs, or other substances adversely affects a driver's ability to make sound judgments, coordinate effectively, and respond quickly.
