Warrensburg, MO (August 17, 2023) – A 43-year-old woman was left with serious injuries due to a pedestrian accident in Johnson County reported on Wednesday, August 16.
Just before 6:00 p.m., a 2009 Dodge Caravan entered Business 13 from a parking lot that was located just north of Market Street. When entering the road, the vehicle accelerated while turning left. The vehicle crossed the northbound lane prior to entering the continuous center turn lane. The driver did not see a pedestrian in the roadway, and as a result, the vehicle struck the pedestrian.
The pedestrian, identified as 43-year-old Inesha Mitchell of Warrensburg, Missouri, was seriously injured. She was transported to Western Missouri Medical Center by Johnson County Ambulance.
The Dodge continued down the road for a short distance before stopping in another parking lot.
At this time, the incident is being investigated.
