Garden City, MO (December 11, 2023) – Emergency officials were requested to provide assistance at the scene of an automobile accident in Cass County that resulted in injuries. Calls for help came in at around 4:40 p.m. on December 8.
Preliminary crash reports provided by the Missouri State Highway Patrol troopers indicate that a tire from a 1999 Jeep Grand Cherokee came off the vehicle as it traveled on Missouri State Route seven. As a result, the vehicle crossed the center median and struck a 2008 Ford Edge just north of East 307th Street. The Ford was totaled in the accident. A passenger in the Ford, identified as 75-year-old Larry Horton, sustained moderate injuries. Horton was transported by ambulance to Belton Regional Medical Center, where he underwent emergency care. At this time, the incident is being investigated.
