Grain Valley, MO (December 14, 2023) – A 28-year-old woman from Oak Grove, Missouri, was injured as a result of an automobile accident that occurred in Jackson County. The accident was reported to officials at around 10:20 a.m. on December 12.
According to reports provided by the Missouri State Highway Patrol, a 2009 Buick was traveling westbound on Interstate 70. A vehicle traveling nearby entered its lane and began getting out of control. The Buick attempted to avoid a collision with the vehicle when it collided with a guardrail. As a result of the collision, the Buick went into the path of a 2019 Honda and struck it near mile marker 23.
The Buick and the Honda were both damaged and unable to be driven from the scene. Both vehicles had to be towed. One person involved in the accident, identified as Sarah Shanahan, was injured. Shanahan was transported to Centerpoint Medical Center by Central Jackson County EMS. At this time, the incident is being investigated.
