Montserrat Twp., MO (December 13, 2023) – A total of seven people were transported to area hospitals for medical care following a multi-vehicle collision in Johnson County on Sunday evening, December 10. The Missouri State Highway Patrol was notified of the crash at around 7:00 p.m.

According to official reports, a 2014 Ford Fusion was traveling in the wrong direction on the eastbound side of US Highway 50 during the evening hours. As a result, the vehicle collided head-on with a 2021 Jeep Renegade. The force of the collision caused the Jeep to spin around and strike a 2017 Chevrolet Cruze. A 2018 Nissan Altima traveling through the area then struck debris on the road. All of the vehicles came to rest, blocking multiple lanes of the highway. The Ford, Jeep, and Chevrolet were all undrivable as a result of the incident. The vehicles had to be towed from the scene.

A total of seven people were injured as a result of the accident. Emergency medical services transported two 1-year-old male victims to Children’s Mercy Hospital for emergency care. LifeFlight responded to transport 30-year-old Alexis Zuck and 32-year-old Holly Lancaster to Research Hospital for emergency treatment.

Three additional victims, identified as 35-year-old Guss Lancaster, 35-year-old Cody Taylor, and 35-year-old Brittney Teal, were also injured. Taylor and Teal were transported to Western Missouri Medical Center by Johnson County EMS for emergency treatment. Lancaster was transported to Research Hospital for further care. At this time, investigations into the collision are underway.
