Sweet Springs, MO (December 26, 2023) – Emergency officials in Saline County were called to the scene of an automobile accident on Saturday afternoon that sent one man with injuries to an area hospital. Calls for assistance came in at around 2:20 p.m. on December 23.

According to official reports, a vehicle collision blocked the eastbound side of Interstate 70 near mile marker 69.2. The incident involved a 2017 Ford Fiesta in a 2014 Ford Fiesta. Crash reports indicate that the 2017 vehicle attempted to change lanes when it collided with a 2014 Ford. The 2014 Ford went off the right side of the roadway and overturned. The driver of the 2014 Ford, identified as Sappington, was moderately injured. He was rushed to the University of Missouri, Columbia Hospital for emergency treatment.
