Gladstone, MO (July 17, 2023) – The Missouri State Highway Patrol confirmed that Eli Alfaro-Lainez, age 30, was seriously injured due to a pedestrian accident that occurred late Friday morning in Clay County.
The accident took place at around 1130 a.m. on July 14.
Official crash reports indicate a crash involving a 2017 Freightliner tractor and a 30-year-old male pedestrian occurred on Missouri State Route 1, North Prospect Avenue. The incident prompted officials to close down the roadway near 68th Street.
The pedestrian, identified as Alfaro-Lainez, was left seriously injured. Emergency medical services transported the victim to North Kansas City Hospital, where he underwent emergency medical care.
The accident is currently being investigated.
