Randolph, MO (July 16, 2023) – A major crash was reported in Clay County that left multiple victims injured.

The accident was reported to state officials at approximately 6:20 a.m. on July 13.

Reports provided by the Missouri State Highway Patrol show that a 2019 Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck crashed into the rear of the 2014 Ford F150 pickup truck on the southbound side of Interstate 35 near Missouri State Route 210 as the vehicles entered a congested area. The impact of the crash sent the Ford into a 2016 Chevrolet Malibu. The Malibu was then forced forward, where it collided with a 2017 Chevrolet Silverado.

Three out of four of the vehicles were totaled as a result of the crash.

Three people were injured in this accident. Emergency medical services with the North Kansas City Fire Department responded to the scene to care for the injured victims. The victims, identified as 35-year-old Devon Hamlin, 69-year-old Joann Hughes, and 51-year-old Lakesia Rambo-Barrett, were all transported to North Kansas City Hospital for emergency treatment.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol is currently investigating the crash.
