Harrisonville, MO (July 8, 2023) – Multiple victims were transported to area hospitals with injuries following a major motor vehicle accident in Cass County.
Just before 12:30 p.m. on July 7, the driver of a 2003 Mercury Mountaineer pulled their vehicle into the path of a 2005 Chevrolet 2500 pickup truck on the northbound side of Highway seven. As a result, the two vehicles were involved in a broadside collision near South Orchard Road. The impact of the crash sent both vehicles off the roadway, where they crashed into a guardrail.
The two vehicles were totaled as a result of the accident and had to be towed from the scene.
Multiple victims were injured as a result of the accident. Emergency medical services transported to juvenile males, ages 10 and 12, to Children’s Mercy Hospital for emergency treatment. Two additional victims, identified as a 13-year-old girl and 37-year-old Martha Ramey, were transported to Cass Regional Medical Center for emergency treatment of injuries. The fifth victim, 32-year-old Carla Trumbo, was transported by Harrisonville EMS to Research Medical Center for the treatment of serious injuries.
At this time, the crash is being investigated.
