Union Township, MO (June 30, 2023) – Two men were left injured as a result of a motorcycle accident that took place in Cass County on Thursday, June 29.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol was called to the scene of a crash that took place on Route D.
According to investigative reports, at around 2:25 p.m., a 2017 Harley-Davidson model 48 crashed into the rear of a 1998 Suzuki motorcycle while traveling on Route D, just north of East 215th Street. The impact of the crash caused the Harley-Davidson to overturn, ejecting the driver. The Suzuki motorcycle went airborne and overturned, ejecting the driver as well.
Two victims involved in this accident, identified as 24-year-old Blake Hunter and 25-year-old Gage Hutchens, were injured in the accident. The two victims were treated for injuries while at the scene. Hutchens was then transported by Belton fire EMS to Overland Park Regional, where he underwent emergency care for serious injuries.
The crash is actively being investigated.
