Independence, MO (November 7, 2023) – A good Samaritan lost their life as a result of an automobile accident that occurred in the Independence area.
At around 2:00 a.m. on November 5, emergency crews were called to the scene of a collision on Interstate 70.
Reports from the Independence Police Department show that two vehicles collided on the eastbound side of Interstate 70. Investigations show that a Chevrolet Equinox was traveling on the roadway when it became involved in a collision. The Chevrolet struck a rock embankment and flipped over before striking the Ford F150 pickup truck.
A good Samaritan stopped at the scene of the accident in order to try to help the victims involved. For unknown reasons, they were struck by a vehicle.
One person in the equinox also suffered fatal injuries in the crash. Both victims were pronounced deceased at the scene. At this time, the incident is being investigated.
