Higginsville, MO (November 8, 2023) – A motor vehicle collision reported in Lafayette County sent a 59-year-old male from Grandview, Missouri, to a local hospital with serious injuries.
At around 10:50 p.m. on November 5, the Missouri State Highway Patrol troopers were called to the scene of a crash that occurred on Interstate 70.
Reports show that a 2008 Honda Civic was traveling eastbound on the interstate when it was rear-ended by a second vehicle near mile marker 46. The impact of the collision caused the driver of the Honda to lose control of their vehicle and travel off the left side of the roadway. The vehicle collided with a median cable barrier before overturning. The vehicle was totaled in the crash.
The second vehicle fled the scene of the accident.
The driver of the Honda, identified as Gregory Houck, suffered serious injuries. He was transported by Higginsville EMS to Centerpoint Hospital for emergency treatment.
At this time, the incident is being investigated.
