Geary Co., KS (October 22, 2023) – The Kansas Highway Patrol responded to the scene of an automobile accident that occurred just outside of Junction City and ended in injuries.
The crash was reported at around 3:52 p.m. on October 21.
According to KHP trooper Ben Gardner, multiple vehicles collided on the eastbound side of Interstate 70. The incident blocked multiple lanes of the road near the Grandview Plaza.
Emergency officials worked to remove the damaged vehicles from the scene of the crash and to restore the flow of traffic. Authorities confirmed that there were already delays in the area due to a partial closure caused by roadwork. However, it is not known whether or not that contributed to the accident occurring.
One person was injured in the accident and had to be transported to a local hospital.
The incident is being investigated by the Kansas Highway Patrol.
