Alma, MO (October 21, 2023) – Three people were hospitalized with significant injuries following a motor vehicle crash in Lafayette County. The accident was reported at around 10:45 a.m. on October 18.
Preliminary investigations provided by Missouri State Highway Patrol trooper JM Haines indicate that a 1997 Chevrolet Silverado was traveling on Missouri State Route 23 when it crossed over the centerline just south of Goodwin Road. As a result, the vehicle collided head-on with a 2001 Ford Ranger. Both vehicles were totaled in the crash and had to be towed from the scene by Meyer Motors in Concordia, Missouri.
Three people suffered injuries due to the crash. A 16-year-old male was hospitalized at Research Hospital in Kansas City, Missouri, with serious injuries. Two other victims, a 16-year-old male from Pleasant Hill, Missouri, and 21-year-old Matthew Yoder from La Monte, Missouri, were both transported to Western Missouri Medical Center in Warrensburg, Missouri, with moderate injuries.
The crash is being investigated by Missouri State Highway Patrol troopers at this time.
