Holden, MO (October 14, 2023) – A woman was injured as a result of an automobile collision that took place in Johnson County on Wednesday evening.

At around 7:30 p.m. on October 11, emergency crews were notified that they were needed at the scene of a crash that took place on Highway 50.

Preliminary investigations show that a rear-end collision between the 2009 Dodge Journey and a 2005 Chevrolet Silverado occurred on the highway near Northwest 1251st Street. The Dodge was totaled as a result of the accident and had to be towed from the scene.

One person involved in the crash was injured. The victim, 34-year-old Samantha Smith of Windsor, Missouri, was transported to Western Missouri Medical Center for emergency care.

At this time, the incident is being investigated.
