Polo, MO (October 4, 2023) – A crash reported in Ray County ended in injuries, according to local law enforcement.
The accident was reported to the Missouri State Highway Patrol at around 1:55 p.m. on October 3.
According to reports from MSHP CPL NA Perez, a 2023 Ford Explorer and a 2013 Hyundai Veloster were both stopped at a construction area on the northbound side of Missouri State Route 13. For reasons unknown, a southbound 2017 Ford F2 50 pickup truck crashed into the Ford Explorer near West 220th Street. The impact of the collision caused the Ford Explorer to rotate and come to rest in the northbound lane.
The Ford pickup truck continued forward and crashed into the Hyundai. Both the Ford pickup truck and the Hyundai came to rest in the southbound lane.
Two people were injured as a result of this accident. Ray County EMS rendered aid to 19-year-old Joshua Durbin of Manson, Iowa, before transporting him to Ray County Hospital for emergency treatment. The second victim, 66-year-old Deborah Carver of Polo, Missouri, was transported by Ray County EMS to Liberty Hospital for treatment of moderate injuries.
At this time, the crash is being investigated.
