Sweet Springs, MO (October 5, 2023) – Trooper MA Harris with the Missouri State Highway Patrol confirmed that one person was injured as a result of a two-vehicle accident that occurred on Wednesday evening, October 4.
The accident occurred at around 8:00 p.m. in Saline County.
According to reports, a 2017 Dodge Ram 2500 pickup truck was traveling on the eastbound side of Interstate 70. For reasons unknown, the vehicle slowed down abruptly in order to make a U-turn near mile marker 69.8. The vehicle became involved in a collision with the 2005 Ford Crown Victoria.
Both vehicles suffered significant injury due to the accident and had to be towed from the scene by Tony’s Auto Repair.
One person involved in the accident, identified as 48-year-old Shane Gooden of Marshall, Missouri, was injured. He was transported to University Hospital in Columbia, Missouri, by Sweet Springs EMS.
The accident is being investigated.
