Fatal Car Accidents in Missouri

Statistics show that in 2022, a total of 1028 people lost their lives as a result of fatal motor vehicle crashes in Missouri. This number represents the highest number of total traffic fatalities since 2006. For more than a decade and a half, we continue to see the number of people lose their lives as a result of fatal collisions increase.

Unfortunately, many of the fatal accidents that we see here in our state are preventable. Many crashes take place as a result of drivers who are negligent. Leading factors in fatal car crashes include:

  • Distracted driving
  • Speeding
  • Fatigue
  • Aggressive driving
  • Failing to yield the right of way
  • Running red lights
  • Driving under the influence

When drivers operate their vehicles in a careless manner, they place the lives of innocent people sharing the road at risk. • Funeral and burial expenses
  • Medical expenses
  • The loss of future earnings
  • Loss of financial support
  • Loss of consortium
  • Loss of companionship
  • Pain and suffering
