Dewitt, MO (September 14, 2023) – Two people were transported to local hospitals with injuries following a vehicle collision in Carroll County on Sunday, September 10.
At around 4:10 p.m., the Missouri State Highway Patrol was notified that their assistance was needed on-site at a collision on US Highway 24.
Crash reports from MSHP Trooper TR Peoples indicate that a 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee struck the rear end of a dirt bike on the highway just east of Missouri State Route 41. The impact of the crash resulted in totaling damage to the dirt bike. The Jeep suffered moderate damage. Both vehicles were towed from the scene by L & L Towing Company.
Two people on the dirt bike were injured. The victims were identified as 43-year-old Richard Tietjens of Dewitt, Missouri, and 37-year-old Brandon Sisemore of Brunswick, Missouri. Tietjens was transported by Life Flight to University Hospital in Columbia, Missouri, for emergency care. Sisemore was transported by Life Flight to North Kansas City Hospital.
At this time, the incident is being investigated.
