Archie, MO (February 22, 2024) – The Missouri State Highway Patrol confirmed that 24-year-old Ethan Southern of Tampa, Florida, was injured as a result of a truck accident in Cass County that was reported on Tuesday afternoon, February 20.
At approximately 1:15 p.m., a collision involving a 2020 Kenworth tractor-trailer and a 2018 Freightliner tractor-trailer occurred on the northbound side of Interstate 49. The impact of the crash caused the Kenworth to travel off the left side of the roadway and jackknife. The incident prompted authorities to close the roadway near mile marker 147.6. Both trucks were totaled in the crash and had to be towed from the scene. One driver, identified as Southern, was transported by Central Cass EMS to Cass County Regional Medical Center for emergency treatment. At this time, the incident is under investigation.
