Kansas City, MO (February 2, 2024) – A 10-year-old child was transported to an area hospital with injuries following a truck crash that occurred in Clay County. The Missouri State Highway Patrol was notified of the crash at around 8:50 a.m. on January 31.
According to authorities, a 2000 Ford Jeep Patriot collided with a 2016 Peterbilt tractor-trailer on the eastbound side of Missouri 10. The Jeep was totaled due to the accident, requiring a local towing company to remove it from the scene. Authorities responded to the crash site and closed off the roadway near Interstate 435 as they assisted with removing the involved vehicles and clearing debris. A 10-year-old girl involved in the crash was injured. Kansas City fire EMS transported the victim to Children’s Mercy Hospital, where she underwent medical care. At this time, the crash is under investigation.
