Kansas City, MO (February 19, 2024) – Just before 8:00 p.m. on February 17, emergency crews were called to the scene of a motor vehicle accident that ended in injuries.
According to reports from the Missouri State Highway Patrol, a 2013 Toyota Prius was traveling on the southbound side of Interstate 35. As the vehicle attempted to change lanes near Interstate 435, it collided with a 2009 Nissan Altima. A passenger in each vehicle was injured. EMS responded to the scene to render aid to a 16-year-old male who was in the Toyota. He was not transported for further care. The second victim, 19-year-old Brent Utterback, who was a passenger in the Nissan, was transported to North Kansas City Hospital for further care. At this time, the crash is being investigated.
