Centerview, MO (January 5, 2024) – Two people were transported to area hospitals with injuries following a crash that took place in Johnson County. The Missouri State Highway Patrol was notified of the collision at around 6:45 a.m. on January 4.

Reports from law enforcement indicate that a 2005 Chevrolet Malibu struck the rear of a 2006 Chrysler Pacifica while traveling on the eastbound side of US Highway 50. The incident prompted Highway Patrol troopers to close off the roadway near Northwest 1051 Road. The Chevrolet was totaled as a result of the accident, prompting it to be towed from the scene.

Two people involved in the accident were injured. EMS responded to the site of the crash to render aid to 22-year-old Thomas Carter and 33-year-old Ashley Myers. Myers was transported by ambulance to Western Missouri Medical Center for emergency care. Carter sought medical care at a VA hospital in Kansas City, Missouri. The incident is currently being investigated.
