Dearborn, MO – Stanford Clark Hospitalized after I-29 Crash

Dearborn, MO (January 21, 2024) – Emergency officials out of Patte County responded to the scene of a motor vehicle accident that left one person injured. The crash occurred at around 6:40 p.m. on January 18.

According to reports provided by the Missouri State Highway Patrol, a 2004 Ford F150 pickup truck struck a pedestrian on the northbound side of Interstate 29 near mile marker 28. The Ford then crashed into the front of a 2002 Chevrolet Tahoe. The force of the crash caused the Chevrolet to strike a second pedestrian and the rear of a 1998 GMC Yukon. The pedestrian became pinned between the Chevrolet and the GMC.

All three vehicles were severely damaged in the accident and had to be removed from the scene. The pedestrians, identified as 25-year-old Miguel Luna and 58-year-old Stanford Clark, were both treated for injuries at the scene. Clark was then transported by NRAD Mosaic LifeCare at St. Joseph, Missouri, for emergency medical care. At this time, the incident is being investigated.

We hope Stanford Clark recovers quickly following this accident.

Pedestrian Accidents in Missouri

Pedestrian accidents are the cause of thousands of injuries across Missouri every year. Regrettably, people involved in these accidents are more likely to suffer severe injuries that ultimately affect their lives forever. Common injuries reported in pedestrian accidents include:

  • Spinal cord injuries

  • Crush injuries
  • Broken ribs
  • Organ damage

When victims are involved in these accidents, the chances of suffering severe and life-changing injuries are dramatically increased. The unfortunate truth is that pedestrians are much more vulnerable to the impact of automobile collisions. When they have no protection at the time of the accidents, there is a significant chance that they will suffer catastrophic injuries.
