Kansas City, MO (January 15, 2024) - A bicyclist sustained fatal injuries as a result of an accident that occurred during the morning hours on Sunday, January 14. Just before 2:00 a.m., the Kansas City Police Department responded to the scene of a crash that occurred on North Oak Trafficway.
Official reports show that a pickup truck was traveling southbound on the roadway when it struck a bicyclist near 82nd Street. The bicyclist was ejected onto the roadway, resulting in fatal injuries. Authorities arrived at the scene and pronounced the victim deceased. The driver of the pickup left the scene of the crash. Authorities later located the pickup truck and took the driver into police custody. At this time, the accident is being investigated.
