Blue Springs, MO (March 10, 2024) –On Friday, emergency crews were called to the scene of a motor vehicle accident in Jackson County that sent two people to area hospitals with injuries. Authorities were notified of the collision just after 2:45 p.m. on March 8.
According to reports from the Missouri State Highway Patrol, a 2022 Dodge Ram 1500 pickup truck was traveling on the eastbound side of Interstate 70. As the vehicle began to slow down due to congestion in the area under the Woods Chapel overpass, a 2021 Dodge Durango crashed into the rear of the vehicle. Both of the vehicles were significantly damaged in the accident. Two people involved in the crash were injured. EMS responded to the scene to render aid to 76-year-old Lynn Flick and 36-year-old Melinda Samson. Both victims were transported to Centerpoint Medical Center for further treatment. At this time, the crash is under investigation.
