Independence, MO (March 7, 2024) – Two people were transported to a local hospital with injuries following a motor vehicle accident that occurred in Jackson County. Authorities were called to the scene of the crash at approximately 5:20 p.m. on March 5.
Reports provided by the Missouri State Highway Patrol indicate that a 2006 Chrysler struck the rear of a 2010 Toyota while traveling on US Highway 40 near East 36th Street. Both vehicles were totaled in the accident and had to be towed from the scene by Elite Tow Company. Emergency medical services responded to the scene to care for victims. AMR transported 31-year-old Audrey Culp of Independence, Missouri, to Centerpoint Hospital for the treatment of serious injuries. The second victim, 44-year-old Dameon Wattree of Kansas City, Missouri, was transported to Truman Medical Center for emergency treatment. The accident is under investigation.
