Kansas City, MO (March 4, 2024) – One person was transported to a local hospital with injuries following a motor vehicle accident that occurred on Saturday morning in Clay County. The Missouri State Highway Patrol was notified of the accident just before noon on March 2.

According to preliminary reports, a 2007 Ford was traveling on Interstate 29 during the late morning hours. As the vehicle began to slow for traffic near the North Oak Trafficway, it was rear-ended by a 2022 Kia. Both vehicles were severely damaged in the crash and had to be towed from the scene. The driver of the Ford, 37-year-old José Monroy, was injured in the accident. He was transported by EMS to North Kansas City Hospital for medical care. At this time, the incident is under investigation.
