Kansas City, MO (March 1, 2024) – Two people were transported by ambulance to area hospitals for the treatment of injuries following a motor vehicle accident that occurred on Wednesday afternoon in Platte County. Calls for assistance were received at around 2:15 p.m. on February 28.
According to law enforcement reports, a 2019 Jeep Cherokee was traveling south on Interstate 29. As the vehicle approached mile marker 4.8, it began to slow down due to traffic congestion on the road ahead. As a result, a 2015 Chrysler 200 crashed into the rear of the vehicle. Both sedans were totaled in the accident. Authorities responded to the scene of the accident and shut down the roadway.
EMS treated 24-year-old Amber Rodriguez and 24-year-old Tyreke Crockett at the scene for injuries. Both victims were transported by ambulance to North Kansas City Hospital in North Kansas City, Missouri. At this time, the incident is under investigation.
