Odessa, MO (March 13, 2024) – A motor vehicle accident reported in Lafayette County sent one woman to an area hospital with injuries. The accident was reported to the Missouri State Highway Patrol at approximately 2:05 p.m. on March 11.
According to law enforcement reports, a 2016 Honda Odyssey and a 2016 Freightliner collided on the eastbound side of Interstate 70 near mile marker 37. Both the vehicles came to rest in the median. The two vehicles were significantly damaged in the accident. The Honda had to be towed from the scene. The driver of the Honda, identified as 49-year-old Maria Ortega of St. Louis, Missouri, suffered moderate injuries. She was transported by Odessa EMS to Centerpoint Medical Center for emergency care. At this time, the incident is under investigation.
