Sedalia, MO (March 29, 2024) – A truck accident reported in Pettis County sent one woman to an area hospital with serious injuries. The accident occurred at around 10:35 a.m. on March 28.
According to official reports, a 2011 Peterbilt tractor-trailer was traveling eastbound on Route V when the vehicle crossed over the center line and entered the westbound lanes. While traveling in the wrong direction on the roadway, the truck collided with a 2006 Chevrolet HHR just east of Moriarty Road. Both of the involved vehicles went off the north side of the roadway. The tractor-trailer then struck a fence before stopping. Both vehicles were severely damaged in the crash and had to be towed from the scene.
The driver of the Chevrolet, 55-year-old Autumn Gilpin, was seriously injured. She was transported by ambulance to Boswell Hospital in Sedalia, Missouri, for emergency treatment. At this time, the incident is under investigation.
