Saline County, MO (August 2, 2023) – One person was transported to a local medical facility for the treatment of injuries following a major truck accident that occurred on Monday in Saline County.
Reports from the Saline County Undersheriff, Brent Melander, show that 21-year-old Elisio Acosta was driving a 2011 Ford F-350 pickup truck on Interstate 70 at around 8:40 a.m. on July 31. For unknown reasons, the vehicle crashed into the rear end of a semi-truck.
The driver of the semi-truck, 51-year-old Terry Barrett, was injured in the crash. He was transported to a local hospital for emergency care.
The two vehicles came to rest on the westbound side of the roadway near mile marker 258.
The Sheriff’s office launched an investigation to determine what caused the accident.
