Lee’s Summit, MO (December 24, 2023) – A crash reported in Jackson County on Friday morning ended in injuries. Calls for assistance were received at around 3:40 a.m. on December 22.
According to reports provided by the Missouri State Highway Patrol, a black 2016 Chevrolet Camaro was traveling on the northbound side of Interstate 40. The vehicle switched lanes in the area just south of Strother Road when it collided with a silver 2001 Chevrolet Equinox. Both of the vehicles slid on the roadway before traveling off the left-hand side and striking the cable barrier.
Two people were injured as a result of the crash. Emergency medical services responded to the scene to render aid to 21-year-old Vera Bohning of Independence, Missouri, and 39-year-old Terita Woods of Lee’s Summit, Missouri. Both victims were transported to Centerpoint Medical Center by Lee’s Summit Fire EMS. At this time, the crash is being investigated.
