Overland Park, KS (July 27, 2023) – The police and firefighters in Overland Park were called to the site of a major multi-vehicle accident that occurred on Wednesday morning.
At around 6:45 a.m. on July 26, calls for assistance were received regarding a collision on Metcalf Avenue.
Reports from local law enforcement show that a vehicle was traveling south of the roadway when it crashed into the rear end of a second vehicle near West 115th Street. The impact of the crash caused a chain-reaction collision involving a total of nine vehicles.
The driver of the second vehicle, who was identified by police as a 17-year-old male from Shawnee, Kansas, was severely injured. He was rushed to a local hospital, where he, unfortunately, passed away from his injuries.
