Platte City, MO – One Hospitalized After Crash on I-29 near MM 22.8

Platte City, MO (November 27, 2023) – Three people were treated for injuries as a result of a crash in Platte County. The accident was reported to the Missouri State Highway Patrol at around 9:55 p.m. on November 25.

According to law enforcement reports, the driver of a 2018 Mazda CX5 lost control of their vehicle while traveling on Interstate 29. As a result, it collided with a 2024 Volvo tractor and a 2018 Jeep Wrangler. The incident prompted MSHP to close off the southbound side of the interstate near mile marker 22.8. All three vehicles had to be towed from the scene. Three people were treated for injuries while at the scene.

The victims were identified as 54-year-old Brett Nilles, 53-year-old Wanda Nilles, and 18-year-old Madison Bauers. Bauers was then transported by EMS to North Kansas City Hospital for further care. At this time, the incident remains under investigation.
