Van Buren Twp., MO (November 29, 2023) – The Missouri State Highway Patrol confirmed that 63-year-old Mark Fields of Independence, Missouri, lost his life as a result of a multi-vehicle wreck that occurred on Missouri State Route 7. The incident occurred at around 9:15 a.m. on November 26.
According to MSHP reports, a 2010 Nissan Juke was traveling on Missouri State Route 7 when the driver failed to yield the right of way to a 2019 GMC Savannah 3500. As a result, the two vehicles collided. The GMC then struck a 2013 Subaru Outback. The impact of the crash caused the GMC to overturn.
The driver of the GMC, identified as Fields, was fatally injured. He was pronounced deceased on-site. Four other victims were injured. EMS transported 21-year-old Julie Longmeyer, 53-year-old Ormthip Longmeyer, and 54-year-old Stephen Longmeyer to Centerpoint Medical Center. Pleasant Hill Fire transported one additional victim, 20-year-old Jenna Marconett, to Research Medical Center for further care. At this time, the crash is being investigated.
